Hi, our names are Mark and Charli, we are Level 3 Personal Trainers and co-owners of Activate Fitness. The aim of Activate Fitness is to break through the fitness and nutritional confusion to provide exciting training, inspirational support and the right nutritional guidance to bring about lasting changes for you.

Activate Fitness was established out of a desire to share our passion for living a healthy lifestyle. We believe it is extremely important to “practise what we preach” so we are able to use our personal experiences and work based knowledge to help individuals achieve the results they are hoping for.

We feel that the five essential components of a healthier lifestyle are Nutrition, Exercise, Mindset, Tracking and Recovery. Our training programmes follow these key principles to aid success.

Through the provision of our Shredders Transformation Programme and Personal Training we are delighted to continue to help our clients reach their goals. Check out our great transformations and client success stories.

My Vision – “To empower clients to be the best version of themselves”

I always felt I was destined to work in the Health and Fitness Industry and became a Personal Trainer from my own love of being active and healthy.

In addition to running Activate Fitness I am the manager of The Heath Leisure Suite and have over 10 years experience.

I have never forgotten the first time I went to a gym as a 16 year old. I was struggling to chest press with 7.5kg dumbbells. I asked the gym manager how I could build muscle and her reply was “you don’t have the genetics”. This negative response has stayed within me and I’ve turned it into a positive to motivate my own training and when working with clients.

I truly believe that in addition to a structure training plan and correct nutrition, through hard work, commitment and determination your personal goals can be achieved.

I appreciate from managing a gym and my training that for many clients the experience is more than just training. It provides an opportunity to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, benefit from a social environment and to improve health, wellbeing and self-confidence.


My Vision – “To invest quality time to help clients push through and achieve results”.

I have always had an interest in fitness and training and for many years dreamt of becoming a Personal Trainer. I decided to make it happen, I’m really enjoying this new experience of helping clients to develop a healthier lifestyle and finding it extremely rewarding too. The drive and determination I needed to make such a fundamentally career change is now being channelled into working with my clients. This experience has helped me to fully appreciate any concerns, anxieties or reservations they may have and to motivate them to succeed.

I appreciate how amazing the human body is and how we should look after it to enable us to live full and healthy lives. I am really mindful of this when developing training programmes for clients.
